Abuelita

My grandmother passed away on September 15. Writing that statement seems so unreal. It still hasn't sinked in for me. It was a very hard thing to go through but I would like this post to be more of celebrating the wonderful life she lived.

My grandma was the pioneer for our family. She came to the United States on her with my aunts. She wanted a better future for her family. It's so astonishing for me that an petite little lady had so much courage to move to another country on her own. Because of her bravey I am able to have the life I have today. Generations and generations to come are going immensely blessesed for the brave decisions my grandmother made.

She also was a great storyteller. No matter how old was the story she would provided even the smallest detail. She had a great memory. There was a time where I lived alone with my aunt. My grandmother lives a couple of houses down. I would visit her everyday and help her out with taking care of my little cousin, Ariana. She would always have a story of our family's history to tell me. I really cherished those moments with her.

My grandmother was such a special person she raised her children and grandchildren and even some great grandchildren too. She was a very sweet person (with who she liked especially lol). I am so grateful she was able to be at my wedding and meet Jonathan. I we always remeber when we moved to Orlando and we would visit Miami she always make us this little packets of things we couldn't find in Orlando. She also always want to cook us a meal before we left. This simple and special gestures are the ones I will always take with me. Her kind words and funny remarks, I keep those to always remember her by.

I am happy to have the knowledge that now she is resting and is in a better place. Till we meet again Abueltia.
