California bound

On Oct 21 I said my farewell to my family. I was not going to see them for two weeks! Two weeks seemed like forever, especially for Jonathan and I who have not really been separeted since we got married. (almost 3 years ago). My job send me out to California for training.

I was not so excited to go because I knew I was going to miss my family and my home. I barely knew my co-workers and I have never been to California before. I was going to be in a strange place with stranger people. So lets just say I was not so thrilled.

When I finally arrived to California it was clearly a beautiful state. There were some breathtaking mountains and at the sme time down below you could see the beautiful sparkling ocean. It was just so amazing.

This training was nation-wide.I meet people from Texas, New York, Minnesota,New Jersey, Michigan and Arizona, which I enjoyed meeting people from around the country. It was a one of the largest classes that the University of Farmers had in a long time. The trainers were all wonderful and the facility its self was beyond my expectations. I work in the medical portion of a claim but we got a tour and were able to see a model house in the University that had flood damage, wind damage and almost every type of damage you could think of. It was really hands on training. There was also a museum with the history of the company.

After training we would go to the hotel and every night we would try to visit and discover different parts in California. I visited Calabasa, Malibu, Westlake Village, Los Angeles, Hollywood, Santa Barbara and Beverly Hills. A group of co-workers would go out to eat every night. It was an array of cusines but I did have my favorites. I loved a restuarnt called Paradise Cove which was right on Malibu beach. It was probably the freshest most tastiest seafood I have eaten. I also love this little mexican restuarant named Baja Cantina. Delicious! One night a group of girls and I went to Beverly Hills and went to have dinner at Villa Blanca. This restaurant was not only super delicious it was beautiful! All white with fresh flowers, pearls, candles and beautiful Paris inspired pieces. Gorgeous resturants. One place I did not expect to like that I did was Roscoe's. They are famous for their chicken and waffles. Well I did not get it at first either, that combination sounds yucky but it was actually scrumpotious. I dont know how...but it was!

Within the two weeks I was able to visit a winery, a couple of beaches, Rodeo drive, sunset blvd, and attend a live taping of the Jimmy Kimmel Show. It was like something new everyday! However I did miss my family terribly. It was fun but I was ready to go home. It was challenging at times knowing that after a long day of work I was not going home. Thank goodness for facetime!

Overall my experience in California was amazing. I meet new people, discovered new places and I learned more about my career. I am very grateful for the wonderful company that I work! Even though this was a business trip, I am super glad I was able to enjoy it too. Now I need to plan a vacation to California with my family! LOL
