Healthier lifestyle

Lately,we have been trying to accomplish some of our new year goals. One of them was to have a healthier lifestyle. We always say we are going to get fit and healthy...BUT we never do. Both of us gained some weight since we got married. The reason I feel that we never accomplish this goal is because there is so many steps involved. However, like Confucius says “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” Our first step was changing small food choices. Whole grain bread instead of white bread, buying healthy alternatives for snacks. Publix has a great section called “Greenwise” that has healthier snacking options. We stopped eating fast foods as much as possible. I have not eaten at McDonald’s, Burger King, and Wendy’s for like 4 months. I researched on how food is processed in most fast food restaurants (if you can even call them that) and all I have to say is YUCK (but that’s a whole different topic). we still eat some fast food places like chick-fil-a but try really hard not to! We starting losing weight but then we hit a plateau.

We knew we needed to work on our fitness. Our next step was to become more active! So...we joined Gold’s gym!

Our reviews it an awesome gym! It has been fun to spend sweaty time together..ha!I’m all for the group exercises but Jonathan he is more about weights!Jonathan is good at trying everything though, he was accompained me in my group excerise classe but he still prefers his weights lol.

My favorite group exercise is ZUMBA. I love it! It is so much fun. It’s a high energy Latin and aerobic fusion of exercise… and let’s just say it’s not for the shy ones ;). I am also taking yoga classes. It is very different kinds of exercise and at first I wasn’t sure if I liked it. But when I found myself waking up at 7:30am on a SATURDAY to go to my yoga class, I realize…I am becoming a little bit of a yogie! We are very happy with our decision to join the gym. We are feeling more and healthier every day!

  1. This is motivating... we have a membership to Gold's and we never go! It is so bad! Good job!

    Wish we were close and would be gym buddies! I love zumba!

  2. Yay! This is so great! I love the quote, it is very true. We joined 24HR Fitness cause it's contract free. Let me just say, I have NEVER been more disciplined or healthier in my life with myself. I can't say I would have done it without Terr because He was the one that got us on a good path because of his diet! Before, I was like, I don't need to go to the gym -- I'm skinny.. but that is not an excuse because I may be skinny but not healthy! You guys are awesome!
