Capitan of my heart

My honey turned 26! Time flies! I still remember him when he was just 16
and trying to show off in front of me…hehehe. This year Jonathan was a
little emotional for his birthday since his mom and sister were just here
visiting.It reminded him
of having is family around for special occasions.I know it is not unusual for
people to get the birthday blues but I don't really like to accept that in my family.
I knew this birthday needed to be extra special.

So to begin his birthday on Sept 1 we all went to Mimi’s Café. Jonathan is
an avid lover of breakfast food! I knew this would begin his birthday just
right. The restaurant even brought a hot chocolate cake thing which was so yummy. After the
breakfast we went to mall for some shopping. He bought some new clothes and
some new tools. (he was super excited about his new tools!) For lunch we had
some Jimmy Johns which is his favorite sandwich place ever!

I tired to make the whole day about him, places he loved to eat and shop for things he wanted. The best part of his birthday was going Go Kart racing. I researched
the different options in Orlando, by far OKC was the best one. It was
outdoors and had the possibility of the fastest speeds for go karts.
Basically it’s where professional go kart racers (yes, there is such a thing)
go to practice. They have even hosted races there for local events. To say
the least he was ecstatic! It made me so happy to see him that way.

The following day after church I prepared him his special lunch and little set up for his birthday. Since he is the ward clerk he always comes home later than me so it was perfect time for me to set up his birthday surprise. This year’s theme came easy since we were going to go on a Disney Cruise for his Birthday. I decided to go with the theme to get everyone excited for the following week’s vacation. I tired to look online for some ideas but there was really none, I guess since this isn’t a common theme. So with my creative juices and my silhouette I was able to make some decorations. (I also used my dad’s drawing skills). The best part of Jonathan’s birthday weekend for me was seeing his excited and grateful reaction to everything.

This year was also different because I wanted to make a delicious tasting cake instead of focusing on the decoration of the cake. I wanted to be moist, have chocolate and caramel. I found a recipe online with my requirements and it was a hit!

I have been blessed to have celebrated Jonathan’s birthday by his side for the last 9 years and the best part is that we have all eternity to continue to celebrate together. I couldn’t have asked for a better husband. Even if he is not perfect he is sure perfect for me. He is truly the love of my life.
