I started slowly training for a 5k. I tried out three different apps to help me train until I found the right one that worked for me. The day after my first day of training I was super sore. I loved the feeling. I kept training and began to see my progress. I went from not being able to run 1 minute with huffing and puffing to running 3 miles! After seeing my progress I became hooked. Things changed, now I would look forward to run. (I also really loved the combination of yoga the next day after a run) My first 5k was Brigthen the day (for cancer research). I did this race alone since Jonathan did not have enought time to train. What I loved the most was the feeling of finishing a race, such an adrenaline!
My second 5k was more exciting because Jonathan wanted to do it with me. We signed up for the Mickey Jingle Jungle 5k. It was so much fun! For this race we decide to dress as Mickey and Minnie. Thanks to pinterest I sewed and made my own skirt!!!
Jonathan and I ran the 5k together and we gave each other support. It was nice to run with my honey. We were able to enjoy together the scences of Animal Kingdom and the fun characters that were part of the entertainment for the runners. My favorite part was while we ran, there were Disney employees cheering us on and saying encouraging words. It was so nice.
This race was Jonathan's first 5k and he loved it and so did I. The entire tone and atmosphere was just fun and happy! This is was only my first run disney race and I plan to run as many as I can! The next one would be the Princess Half which is on my bucket list! =)
I am happy I took on this hobby and get to run at Disney and run for a good cause. (All Disney races benefit Leukemia & Lymphoma society)
Since I started to do races I decided to make a bib and medal holder a while back. (originally made for my bestfriend but she was also getting one made from her sister lol) Now I finally have bibs and medals to display! I hope I can continue to fill it up with more races!
(I may have to change the quote since Jonathan is joining me on races... I will work on that)
